Berry season is upon us which means pies, crumbles, crisps and cobblers. I opted to make an cherry clafoutis for the annual Gonfard Family Memorial Day BBQ. I love this eggy, custardy dessert and it’s a great alternative to the more time consuming pie. However, if one of your hosts happens to be French (Mr. Gonfard) and you feel especially ashamed about the lack of French you learned during your semester abroad in Paris (me), then you should practice how to pronounce clafoutis before you present dessert!
